Frontier Airlines flight delay and cancelation policy

Like all other United States domiciled airlines, Frontier Airlines is not required to provide passengers compensation in the event of a flight disruption, regardless of whether Frontier was at fault for the delay/cancelation.

However, passengers do have the right to a refund in the event of a controllable flight delay.

What is a controllable flight delay?

A controllable flight delay is a disruption that occurs because of something within an airline’s control. This includes:

  • Mechanical problems
  • Crew delays
  • Paperwork delays

Weather related disruptions are considered to be outside of Frontier’s control, and as such, are not eligible for a refund.

Refund policy

Frontier passengers are entitled to a refund after a substantial flight delay or cancelation if they opt not to fly.
